A Sin Not To Back The Saint At Bangor

Donald McCain’s Jimmy The Saint returned from a near three year absence to score in battling fashion from a fair sort over two miles at Towcester four weeks ago, and he can build on that experience by taking the Excel Signs Ltd Novices’ Hurdle (4.50pm) at his stable’s local track on Wednesday afternoon.

Highly rated by his trainer the eight year old should stay two and a half miles standing on his head, and now he’s over his lengthy injury woes he can make up for lost time in the hands of Jason Maguire. Win bet.

Good luck!

Wednesday’s best bet:

4.50 Bangor – Excel Signs Ltd Novices’ Hurdle – 1 Jimmy The Saint (win) @ 6/4 with Bet365, Victor Chandler & Stan James

Look to Nad Al Sheba for a Thursday winner?

Mike de Kock’s Imbongi looks to be the best bet on a cracking card at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday afternoon – a three-time Grade 2 winner at home in South Africa last year – Imbongi has delighted connections with his work since arriving and can score at the first time of asking in Dubai in the Marju Trophy at 6.15pm.

The slight drop in trip to the extended six furlongs should be to his advantage, and with bags of speed to overcome a wide draw it can prove worthwhile to snap up a bit of 9/2 with Stan James.

Imbongi should ultimately prove a good deal better than this and could well be one to follow.

Pot a winner with this Masters Snooker? Tip

No, don’t adjust your set, it’s some red-hot snooker advice on the Betting Directory tipping site, and the word from within the Wembley Arena is that Mark Selby (4/7 general) should be backed to come through his afternoon test against Mark Allen and seal a place in the semi-finals. Allen has played well to get this far, but the writing should be on the wall now he clashes with the top seed.

This evening’s match sees Ding Junhui go head-to-head with John Higgins, with ‘The Star From The East’ the percentage call to edge out odds-on Higgins at evens with Boylesports and Skybet after he saw off Shaun Murphy 6-4 in a tough opener.

The best bet tomorrow looks to be Stephen Maguire at 4/6 with Extrabet and Skybet – he is well fancied to see off Neil Robertson.

The treble comes out best at bigger than 4/1 with Skybet.

The one game we’re leaving well alone is ‘The Rocket’ Ronnie O’Sullivan’s clash with the more than useful Ali Carter. Not only are the doubts about O’Sullivan’s fragile temperament refusing to recede, but he’s also playing with a new cue, and could struggle to find a winning rhythm.

He isn’t necessarily a lay, since he could probably win blindfolded if he chooses to turn on the style, but there are enough question marks to make this one a no bet or even a small play on Carter. Good luck.
