Blue is the colour for Hiddink in Next Chelsea Manager Betting

Readers could do worse than have a small bet on popular coach Guus Hiddink remaining at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of this season, despite his protestations to the contrary.

The board, the fans and the players are all desperate for him to remain in the Chelsea dugout regardless of how they fare in the FA
Cup Final and Champions League semi, and sources at the club are suggesting it might not be such a lost cause as we’re being lead to believe.

Anyone who can teach Didier Drogba to stay on his feet is alright in my book and besides, where would you rather spend a winter’s day on training pitch, leafy Cobham or freezing Vladivostock?

Back Hiddink to be the next permanent Chelsea boss at around 8/1 on Betfair.

These teams foot the bill for a Weekend Winner‏

We’ll start early in the hunt for some winners on the weekend football coupon, with Reading making plenty of appeal in their Friday night Championship clash with struggling Watford.

The Royals have the best goal difference in the league and ought to face a straight-forward assignment at the Madejski Stadium.

The Berkshire side currently occupy second spot in their section with 51 points, but with Birmingham City breathing down their necks for that coveted automatic promotion spot they’ll be keen to avoid any mishaps in winnable looking fixtures like this.

Coral and Skybet have chalked up the best price in the village with a reasonable quote of 8/15.

Next up Aston Villa look like ideal material to bolster the accumulator at 4/9 (general) in their West Midlands derby with bottom team West Brom. Fair play to the Baggies they try and play football the right way, but slick passing football with no end product can only lead them in one direction, and I’ll be amazed if they can get the better of their local rivals.

The Baggies are a mere 2/5 to ‘boing-boing’ straight back down in the Championship, and I can’t see much repsite for their depressed travelling fans at Villa Park. They won’t even be able to drink their way through it with any determination since the concourse bars inside Villa Park serve up an over-priced concoction masquerading as lager roughly akin to canal water. Actually that’s probably a disservice to canal water, but you get the picture.

Back to the Championship where Sheffield United should have too many guns for a traumatised looking Norwich team who’ve lost nine of their 13 away games, and won’t be looking forward to running out of the Bramall Lane tunnel one little bit.

The Blades are going great guns, currently occupying the final play-off spot, whereas Norwich can’t aspire to so much as a whiff of a Premiership armpit in their current relegation dogfight.

In the circumstances Paddy Power offer a stand out price of 7/10 which looks more than fair.

Last up Scunthorpe will be kicking themselves if they don’t put Hereford away in their League One encounter at Glanford Park, and they rate a solid last leg of the acca at 8/15.

Aside from boasting what is surely the most ridiculous mascot in world football in the shape of “the scunny bunny”, they play some neat football in the last third of the pitch, and in 16-goal Gary Hooper they’ve got a decent finisher at this level.

Hereford on the other hand are dishevelled looking set-up on the road, losing 10 of their 12 away games, and scoring only five times away from Edgar Street. It’s hard to see that statistic improving here.

The four-timer pays around 9/2 with the majority of the firms, with trebles from four selections a decent back-up plan.

Be lucky!
Tom

Fratton-ising in the Championship‏ As Pompey Look a Good bet to Go Down

Portsmouth look a big price at 10/3 with Totesport  to be playing their football in the second tier next season.

The fixture list won’t make pleasant reading for Pompey fans, and with some tough games approaching (United, Chelsea and Liverpool) you could be in a handy position to lay off by the start of April.

Although they’re in 12th at present it seems hard to envisage a great improvement with Tony Adams failing to motivate his players, Jermaine Defoe off to Spurs, Glen Johnson apparently making his way to Liverpool for a few nights out with ‘Stevie G’ and the boys in Southport, and their only class player Lassana Diarra now plying his trade for some Sunday league outfit in Madrid.

Teams currently below them look far better placed to start picking up points, and it’s difficult to make a case for any of Newcastle, Sunderland, Tottenham or ‘Boro being relegated. Manchester City going down with a billion in the bank? It would be funny but it’s not going to happen.

That leaves us with West Brom, Stoke, Hull, Blackburn and Portsmouth.

If Big Sam can get Rovers firing and keep Santa Cruz in place ’til May then they’ll be safe, and the excellent Phil Brown has a set of players at Hull who’ll give 100% week in week out, so they can limp to the 40 point watermark.

That leaves three relegation spots, one of which could well be filled by the men from Fratton Park, and can give Betting Directory readers a 10/3 return come May. Get stuck in.

Man Utd look Good Value for Emirates win

Boylesports are putting their necks on the line with an attention-grabbing 6/4 about in-form Manchester United to take all 3 points home from the Emirates Stadium in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, and it’s only right we should take full advantage of their generosity.

Arsenal are a sight to behold when they’re on their game, but they couldn’t be further from it right now, resembling a Sunday league team constructed from a bunch of part-time postmen, carpenters & fishermen.

Free Bet of £200 for all new Boylesports customers

Arsene Wenger’s men, shorn of confidence, missing key players, and on the verge of a dressing room civil war, will be dreading this. United meanwhile will be in the mood to exploit the Gunners current ills and get a vital win on the board after surrendering leads at both Anfield and Stamford Bridge.

Take the price before it’s gone (United are only 2.4 on Betfair at the time of writing).

Weekend Premiership Treble Makes Plenty of Appeal

As we look to keep our good run of racing tips going, we may as well try an exploit our run of good fortune and turn our hand to a weekend football bet.

Look no further than our very own Premier League for a value treble this weekend with games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday set to provide plenty of ammunition for the week ahead:

First up Middlesbrough can make home advantage pay against out of sorts West Ham – ‘Boro aren’t easy to beat on their own patch, and with confidence high after a good result in midweek (they beat a far superior team to West Ham) they can oblige at even money against the out of sorts Hammers.

In Sunday’s 4pm live game, you get the impression Bolton must wonder where their next goal is ever going to come from, and it all points to a massive opportunity for Mark Hughes’ jekyll & hyde Manchester City outfit to wrest spoils from the Reebok at round 11/8. They might be a liability at the back, but they can certainly outscore the Trotters.

Last up the best bet of the three looks to be 6/4 shots Aston Villa, who can halt Joe Kinnear’s mini-revival on Tyneside by beating Newcastle on Monday night at St. James’ Park. Villa are a slick unit under Martin O’Neill and will fancy their chances of a successful away day.

Weekend Premiership Treble
Middlesbrough to beat West Ham
Man City to beat Bolton Wanderers
Aston Villa to beat Newcastle United

A successful £20 treble would return £237.50 with Stan James – If you are a first time customer, make sure you take advantage of their £25 free bet.

Tom’s Weekend Football Betting Tips

If you fancy winning a bit of pocket money on the football this weekend, the following treble looks the one to be on at just shy of 3/1 with Paddy Power: SPL leaders Celtic away at Inverness (1/2), money bags QPR at home to travel sick Nottingham Forest (4/6), and finally the good news story which is Rotherham, back in positive points after startng the season on -17, and taken to overwhelm a decidedly average looking Barnet outfit.

Finally, anyone who’s ever attempted to define the word value cannot ignore the 10/1 currently on offer with William Hill about Wigan taking three points from Liverpool at Anfield. The Scousers without Fernando Torres resemble a boozed-up old slapper at kicking out time stumbling from one possible conquest to another, desperately trying to work out where the a sniff of goal might come from, and if Steven Gerrard is feeling the effects of the trip to Belarus, then the 10/1 about the Latics with William Hill is miles too big.

Wigan would be 9/2 shots on my book, and while I wouldn’t be rushing to hit the lay button on Betfair, you simply have to have a little bit of what is just the wrong price. The men from the JJB are a tight bunch under the tutelage of Steve Bruce, and in Amir Zaki they possess a genuine 90-minute goal threat.
